…On the 23rd April 1516, Bavaria adopted the Reinheitsgebot (German purity law) which decreed that only water, barley and hops may be used to brew beer. Five hundred years later, the only change has been the addition of yeast to help with fermentation. Beer may not have been invented in Germany, but we have refined the art of brewing to perfection.
It will come as no surprise that on Saturday 23rd April, Bierschenke intend to mark this remarkable anniversary in true Oktoberfest style! Great beers, our original rotisserie chicken (Brathendl) and from 8pm, live music from our very own Bavarian Strollers. Reserve a table in our restaurant right in the City of London online or just pop in on the night. We have plenty of space and always welcome walk-ins!
